Commissioned by the local arts association, this mural was painted by John Christian of Go Georgia Arts as part of The Georgia Mural Trail project. Started in 2014 as a five-year commitment to paint 50 murals in 50 Georgia cities, this piece features a backdrop of mountains and incorporates a large trout—an ode to Blue Ridge’s designation as the Trout Capital of Georgia. Blue Ridge Reflections Mural 🎨

This mural on the side of the 4 Elements Fine Art Gallery depicts one of the area’s most popular lakes. Painted by local artist George Charriez, the scene offers a picturesque backdrop featuring fall foliage and mountains. Coca-Cola Mural 🥤

Painted on the side of the Cohutta Fishing Company store, this mural has gone through several restorations over the years. Originally painted in the early 1900s, the mural was restored by Morganton resident Weyland Collins, who used a technique learned at Turner Advertising to faithfully recreate the vintage design.

This mural, painted on the side of the King Edwards Cigar Building, has been part of Blue Ridge’s history for decades. Hugh McClure, who bought the building in the early 1970s, allowed the company producing Red Man products to use the wall for advertising. When the building was purchased by Len Crawford in 2008, he hired someone to restore the mural, which has since become a popular photo spot for visitors.

Quilt Mural 🧵

Commissioned by the Blue Ridge Mountains Arts Association and completed in late 2022, this mural by Decatur, Georgia artist Elaine Stephenson is one of the area’s newest. Painted on the wall of a parking garage, it pays homage to the Appalachian art of quilting, an integral part of local culture. Each square incorporates bold colors and geometric patterns. The artist has a deep affection for the Blue Ridge area, as her grandparents owned a home nearby and she often vacationed there.
